The HKJC has introduced a series of measures to ensure the fairness of the lottery draw, including strict testing and monitoring of all items used in the draw, from boxing to transport. The balls used in the draw are also measured, weighed and scanned for traces of foreign matter on a regular basis. In addition, the HKJC conducts regular inspections of the draw machine to ensure it is functioning properly. The HKJC has also established an emergency hotline for members of the public to report suspected faulty machines. These measures have proven to be effective in preventing fraud and protecting consumers’ interests. In the past few years, the HKJC has recovered a total of more than HK$5 billion in compensation to players.
